Went out with Mummy and bro last friday. Mummy treated us to sushi!

The Cha soba was.... WORTH THE SLURPZ.

Then bro got his Galaxy Nexus over at Starhub. That guy was mad happy but tried to act so cool and all. Ahh anyway, because he couldn't make it to my concert (will blog about it soon) last month, he owes me a treat. HE WASTED A CONCERT TICKET :(

Went to Gloria Jean's and he treated Mummy and I to some coffee. The pastries were Mummy's treat though.

Peanut Butter Cookies

Made peanut butter cookies 2 weeks ago while I was at home. (becoz I had nothing to do)

I hardly bake, not the type who loves baking. But this just came to me, I HAD TO BAKE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES THAT DAY. Aha, I don't know why.

So I scanned through the recipe book and headed down to buy the ingredients that I lack (which isn't a lot cos Mom bakes a lot and she has loads of leftovers), haha and yes, I was rather determined to bake edible cookies that day!

So let's start with the ingredients!

50g butter or margarine
75g soft light brown sugar

100g crunchy peanut butter

50g self-raising flour

50g rolled oats

I had no idea what kind of rolled oats I was supposed to use, so I just dumped a random one into the basket while I was shopping.

1 medium egg

50g roasted, unsalted peanuts

Since I was going to bake it, I thought why not I just buy the normal peanuts.

And here goes the cook-making.....

So first you put the butter, sugar and peanut butter into a bowl.

So you beat the mixture until it turns creamy.

Then you sieve in the flour and add the oats. Stir the mix.

Ok, the first batch of cookies turned out horrible, though Mom said it tasted better. In my opinion la, there was too much oats, so my mixture didn't become a soft dough.

Make them into cookie shapes and then brush the top of the cookies with the beaten egg.

After that place the peanuts on top.

Had a friggin' hard time rolling the mixture into cookie shapes.

Looks not-so-bad but tastes not-so-good.

So I tried again. And this time, I cut down on the use of oats and peanut butter.

This was roughly the amount of ingredients I used for the second batch of cookies.

Repeat the steps on top! And it should turn out like....

THIS! A soft dough!

Guess who kept me company?

Ok, since Valentine's was over, I baked sad-looking cookies. This time it was so much easier to make the cookie shapes!

The moment I started to doubt if the cookies would turn out successful.

Also part of the second batch.

Turns out it was a little burnt, but the texture was okay... I guess...

I think I should bake more often. OR NOT.

Sometimes having holidays can be a torture when you have your parents complaining from time to time that you have nothing to do, when in fact, what you do at home is not "something to do" to them. So it's either you do the house chores or go outside and get a job.

I got a job at Sentosa - yep it's far - to kill time or rather, get paid to kill time. It's pretty good, the people there are really nice (I mean what do you expect, IT'S SENTOSAAAA!). It's a better job la, compared to my previous job. In case you didn't know, I used to work at Cold Stone Creamery, but I quit after less than a month. Not gonna tell you why because there aren't many reasons to quit a job, so I'm sure you can guess! Haha, kidding. But I'm really enjoying my current job. And forgive me if I haven't been blogging so often (Meh, it's not like anyone reads my blog anyway)! It's because I'm working now (:

Grandma's turned a year older!

Went to Grandma's house to have a family gathering as well as celebrate her birthday. Aunt ordered buffet! There was a wide spread of food! And guess what? Didiana is back with big boy Darren! They were here to surprise Grandma (: No one told her Didiana and Darren were back from LA on Friday!

It was all food and a lot of catching up here and there, and then the cutting of cake and tart!

Just a fruit cake. But damn, it looks so good.

And Mom made a huge tart for Grandma!

Valentine's Day with Nelson

10 days late, but it's ok. Who cares right?

So judging from the post title, you'd probably think I went on a date with a guy or something. But uhhmm... NOOOOO. I went on a date with my dooood (we call each other dude)! Haha, which is Sze Li.

So the plan was to actually have breakfast at Hatched! but we were late, so we decided to head down to Novena for breakfast. Chose to have a hearty breakfast at Coffee Bean (:

Food For Thought. Looked so tempting on the menu coz of theee eggs. Was a little disappointing though!

This is Sze Li's breakfast! Reaaaaaally good. Scrambled eggs, 2 sausages, bacon strip, a beef patty, toasts and salad, nothing's missing from a real hearty breakfast!

The movie was kinda disappointing :(

So... since we had nothing to do after the movie, we headed down to GY to visit the band! Oooh, we just wanted to check out the new members! Hahaha! Went home early cos Mom texted me to tell me that she ordered a Valentine's dinner from Pizza Hut cos they were having a promotion. WE WERE IN FOR A TREATTTTT!

Heart-shaped pizza! Tasted horrible though. The stuff on the pizza just didn't go well together! I don't fancy a sweet pizza :o

Complimentary gift. All eaten up by my bro.

And these are Mom's surprise Valentine's fruit tarts! (: Tasted good!

I guess that's all from me! Hope all of you enjoyed Valentine's Day as much as I did.

Just to emphasize, Valentine's is a day for the couples to feel blessed to have one another, it's a day where they thank each other for the love. It's a very important day for all couples in the world. To those out there who deliberately posted on fb or twitter about how lonely you are, how you are going to be forever alone, you do know that you are indirectly indicating that you are desperate for love right? Think twice before complaining about these things, and stop ruining Valentine's day for everyone by telling the world how meaningless it is.

Alrighty, that's all I have to say! Got work at 10am tomorrow, better jump into bed.

The other day I mentioned that I was going to have dinner with my potatoes right? Yeah, I should've blogged about the dinner long ago, but Sze Li had to take a week to rotate the photos. AND SHE STILL OWES US PHOTOS FROM THE PAST OUTINGS! :(

Alright, putting that aaaaside, we went to Kenny Rogers Roasters at Novena to have dinner that night.

I just realised the "Less fat... Less salt... Less calories..." part.

There were quite little stuff on the menu to order, but take note, THERE ARE MANY SIDES to choose from! Each person can have 2 sides! That's kind of the nice part about Kenny Rogers. But other than that, I have to say they don't have a lot of food there :( But true enough, their food are "Less fat... Less salty... Less calories..."

So here's what we ordered:

Fimb's BBQ Chicken wrap or something.

My Roasted Chicken wrap or something. HAHA I FORGOT THE NAME.

Didn't manage to take a picture of Sze Li's Roasted Chicken, which was of course, the speciality of Kenny Rogers Roasters.

Ok, both sides on the right are my orders. Very vege vege-ish so Sze Li didn't touch it at all. Haha, she's not a vege-ish person.

Oh they give this really tasty corn bread muffins before you order! It's really good!

We had a good laugh over dinner! Haha, was talking about all sorts of things and doing silly stuff like how we used to in school! You know those moments when a friend suddenly do something stupid unintentionally and everyone just starts bursting out into laughters? That kind of laughter, my friend, can last for around 10 minutes! And then after that everyone just laugh along even if they didn't know what happened. It gets even crazier when someone asks "What's so funny?" Ahh, I miss secondary school.

Oh, I went off topic. So we took pictures after that and left the place!

So last week I had a family gathering at grandma's house, cos Charlize, my niece, and Gabriel, my nephew, is back from China! (: They came back for CNY, so we decided to have a gathering so all of us could meet the kids.

Alright, whatever. I'm back! With a looooooonnnnnggggggggggg post! It's about my journey; journey to collect ang baos. I know I know, you're wondering what's up with the title. I'll explain in just a bit.

Day 1

Here's Mom giving a red packet to my Great Grandmother.

Oh! My Great Grandmother gave two red packets to each of us! We told her we've already gotten one the other day, but she insisted we took the next one because she already took the trouble to put money into the red packet! Haha, she's so funny.

Let me stop here for awhile. LOOK, I LOVE BEING A GIRL. But...aww man, sometimes I envy guys when it comes to dressing up. Because they just have to pick a really nice top and a really matching bottom whenever they shop for clothings! And walaaaa, they look as dashing as ever. I KNOW WE GIRLS HAVE MORE CHOICES, don't get me wrong, I'M PROUD OF IT, but sometimes, I just wanna just pick a shirt, a bottom, and still look good. I guess only the lazy ones would agree with me.

Hah, I'm doing up a post on New Year's Eve because I feel so lousy for being so lazy during the holidays. So yes, I'm doing the typical reflection everyone does at the end of the year, just that I'm blogging it out.

To be honest, 2011 was a tough year. Haha, alright, it's actually the same every year. Just a milestone. We go through tough and good times every year, so it's pretty much the same. But you know what's different; the people that we meet each year.

Kina Grannis

Mine blown after watching this video? She is someone close to perfect. Singer/Songwriter, really talented and she's starting to get recognised! It's sad to know that many people don't know who Inch Chua is.

I love this song so much and I love her voice. I'd dream of having such a beautiful voice. Inch has big dreams, but it's a pity her dreams can't come true in Singapore, so she went far away to prove herself (: I'm proud of her, I hope all Singaporeans are! Anyway, she's performing live later at Marina Bay for the countdown, be sure to look out for her if you've got tickets!

Alright, let me explain why I deleted all my blog posts.

I bought a new phone, and I synced it with my Google account, which happens to be my blogger account. All the photos in my blog were synced into my phone, and in a moment of folly, I deleted EVERYTHING. Wow right. HAHAHA

Anyways, my birthday is on 22 November. Yeah, it passed like 2 weeks ago. Was really busy with work and having fun at band camp, that's why I didn't blog for a long time.

Both my Mom and Fimb told me there was a new waffle shop around Upper Thomson Road. Decided to head down there and OM NOM NOM some waffles with Fimb and Sze Li.

Loved Fimb's outfit that day, so adorable. Reminds me of Zooey Deschanel in New Girl.

I guess the person who made the chocolate waffles thought we'd mistake the chocolate waffles as burnt waffles, so he came to explain there was chocolate included in the waffle batter which explains the colour of it! How amazing!
